Nicky Thompson
Nicky is a warm, encouraging and friendly tutor. She trained in teaching learners with specific learning difficulties at the Helen Arkell Centre, and was awarded OCR Level 5 with distinction.
The rapport she builds with her pupils does restore confidence and helps to install self-belief that Maths difficulties can be overcome.
Since 2017 to present, she has been working as a specialist teacher at Emerson House, West London. She has the experience and knowledge to create tailored-learning programmes that respond to a child’s individual learning-style and the specific vulnerabilities in understanding Maths concepts.
Nicky says,
‘I love to use concrete materials as much as possible, as Rob has been demonstrating in his videos, to support conceptual understanding of Maths operations. I hope this makes learning more engaging and memorable. I’m never happier than when a child has a break-through moment!’
