Why do learning problems in numeracy occur and what can be done about it?

October 14 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm
In this presentation, Professor Sharma and Dr. Chinn explore how children learn and master the foundation skills of numeracy

What is optimal instruction for their achievement?

What is absent from instruction or goes wrong when these milestones are not achieved properly?

What factors lie in the child (cognition, executive functions, learning profile, etc.) and what factors are outside the child (environmental, poor instruction and resources, poor understanding of these concepts, skills, schemas, etc,).

Prof Sharma and Dr Chinn will address these issues from multiple perspectives, including effective strategies to achieve these milestones easily, effectively, and efficiently.

They will entertain questions and invite discussion of these important issues to help children with and without dyscalculia.
