Tips to Support Dysalculics within Educational Settings

September 28 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Helping educators understand and support dyscalculia through practical strategies, inclusive teaching and reasonable adjustments.

This session will explore practical strategies for supporting learners with dyscalculia within educational settings. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of the common difficulties experienced by students with dyscalculia and how these can affect participation, confidence and attainment in mathematics. Drawing on current research, assessment practice and real-world experience, the session will consider approaches that reduce barriers to learning and promote meaningful mathematical understanding.

The presentation will focus on evidence-informed classroom strategies, reasonable adjustments, multi-sensory approaches, the use of visual supports and concrete resources, and ways to strengthen number sense and mathematical confidence. Attendees will leave with practical ideas that can be implemented immediately to support learners with dyscalculia across primary, secondary and further education settings.
