Sarah Jones

Services: Specialist maths tutor at tutor’s address or an agreed location

Ages: Primary

I qualified as a teacher in 1996 with a BA (QTS) Honours degree from Roehampton and quickly realised a passion for teaching children with additional needs. I obtained a Certificate in SEN in Mainstream Schools from Roehampton in 2000, having achieved my ambition to become a learning support teacher and a year later, becoming a SENCo.

Through my 25 years of experience as a teacher, SENDCo, senior leader and subsequent advisory role I have been dedicated, passionate and creative, enabling me to use my leadership skills to drive change and improvement. In my current role, I lead on Dyscalculia and challenge practice, train, guide and support primary and secondary schools to ensure the best outcomes for all. I endeavour to narrow the attainment gap for all children especially those with SEND, through the delivery of high-quality advice, training and inclusive practice- much of it self-produced.  I have a proven track record of eagerly creating positive relationships with stakeholders, to ensure collaborative partnerships.

2022 saw me complete the Post Graduate Diploma in Dyscalculia Research and Practice at The University of Chester, achieving a merit grade overall. In addition, I have recently (2023) been successful in securing an Associate Lecturer position in  SEND Studies at the University of Chichester.
