Children often have a complex relationship with maths, so it is with care and depth of understanding that I support children. Dyscalculia can hinder development in maths by underminding the childs’ confidence and identity as a learner so I am passionate about establishing, or diagnosing, whether this is the barrier to moving forwards in their learning of this emotive, but essential subject.

Dyscalculia is little known but very real and I can use my experience as a maths specialist to pinpoint the difficulties, to empower you with knowledge and to inspire you to advocate for your child, or the child in your care, if I discover that dyscalculia is the specific difficulty they have. By being fully qualified as a dyscalculia and maths learning difficulties specialist you can be confident that I will be a sensitive, pragmatic and professional assessor for dyscalculia or the specific learning difficulties in maths.

I trained in educational pyschology and have rich experience of neurodiversity so my approach is respectfully neuroaffirming. I can accommodate different assessing schedules so that your child feels able to access a diagnostic assessment and open the door to further support.

I am also qualified to assess for exam access arrangements so may be able to work with your childs’ exam centre (e.g. school) to enable them to make adjustments that make a difference to your child in their exams. (Please ask for further information as this is a complex area).

I provide full diagnostic assessments for dyscalculia and ‘SpLD in Maths’ in and around the Bath area in the South West of the UK. I have an active APC certification meaning I am fully regulated and up-to-date with changes in diagnostics and that my reports and diagnoses will be valid, under current regulations, for the life time of the client. I take my professional responsibilities seriously and am fully insured, with an active enhanced DBS enabling me to work safely with children.
