About
I have been a teacher and consultant in the primary and lower secondary phase for over 25 years. During that time, I have also acted as an external expert for the Department of Education for the assessment of Key Stage Two writing and as a Team Leader for the marking of Key Stage Two SATs. Since becoming interested in Maths, I have obtained a Post Graduate Certificate and Post Graduate Diploma in Dyscalculia. I also have a Master of Education degree (Primary), with modules in both English and Maths.
I am committed to child-centred, multisensory Maths teaching that seeks to build confidence in children and encourage them to think about their own thinking, build their own models and realise that making mistakes allows them to learn.
I offer tutoring sessions and assessments for pupils up to 16 year, either in my home office, in school or at pupils’ homes. Based in Leeds, I am prepared to travel to locations in West Yorkshire.
